I know all this - that's why I said I didn't want to get into an argument and why I have a unique address for this list. But part of the point is that anyone with any degree of responsibility keeping an archive should be aware and munge/withhold the address anyway. I'd like to limit the noise on the internet as close to source as possible, rather than it getting to my server [or my desktop which also has numerous filters and programs blocking spam]. But as I said before I don't want an argument it was a suggestion/request. I'm a fucking sysadmin and so I know how to block spam, trace spam, and get annoyed by spam. I get annoyed because of the munching of bandwidth that can be used by irrelevant email. So stop it at source. It's more environmentally friendly. It's also helping propagate some of the more horrible outlook/email Viri, and whilst that is people's own fault for having those features enabled on their computers it's still good to stop the spread. Like wearing a condom when you fuck a stranger. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
